This Privacy Policy describes how Tank Care Buddy ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Tank Care Buddy iOS application (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

Tank Care Buddy is designed to work entirely on your device. The information you enter — tank names, fish species, water test results, water change logs, and maintenance notes — is stored locally on your iPhone. We do not automatically collect or receive this information.

Usage and analytics data

The App does not currently collect analytics or usage data beyond what Apple provides to all developers through App Store Connect (aggregate, anonymized download and crash data). No third-party analytics SDKs are included.

Crash reports

If the app crashes, Apple may send anonymized crash report data to us through Xcode and App Store Connect. This data does not include personally identifiable information and is used only to diagnose and fix bugs.

2. How we use your information

Since all tank and care data is stored locally on your device, we do not use it in any way — it remains entirely in your control. If you contact us by email (for support, feedback, or questions), we use the information in your email only to respond to you and will not share it with third parties.

3. Data storage and security

All data you enter into Tank Care Buddy is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms. We do not operate servers that store your tank or care data.

The App provides an export/backup feature that lets you save your data to a file on your device. This file is not sent anywhere automatically — you control it.

4. Third-party services

Tank Care Buddy does not currently integrate with third-party services that would receive your personal or tank data.

The App is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple's privacy practices apply to the App Store experience. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details.

5. Data retention

Your data is retained on your device until you delete the App or clear the App's local data through the in-app "Clear local data" option in Settings. Deleting the App from your iPhone removes all locally stored tank data.

Any backup files you export are stored wherever you save them (your Files app, iCloud Drive, etc.) and are your responsibility to manage.

6. Your rights

Because we do not collect or store your personal data on our servers, most data-rights requests (access, deletion, correction) can be fulfilled entirely by you, on your device:

• Access: All your data is visible inside the App.
• Export: Use the export backup feature in Settings.
• Delete: Use "Clear local data" in Settings, or delete the App.

If you have contacted us by email and would like us to delete any correspondence we hold, please email us and we will honor that request.

7. Children's privacy

Tank Care Buddy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
